21 Day Carnegie Challenge

March 13th, 2013

Social media sites contain a lot of negativity – it’s unfortunate how many people use social media to criticize, condemn and complain.  Our personal social media sites represent our personal brand and are a large part of the impression we make on others.  Do you want to be seen as a complainer or a leader?

Take the 21 Day Carnegie Challenge to not post any criticism, complaints, condemnations, or negativity and instead post sincere praise, appreciation, and recognition to status updates that you like, respect and admire.  How many genuine compliments can you post to the social media sites of those in your network?  How many authentic “likes” can you offer?  How many positive comments can you share?  Keep track of ways in which your social network responds to your efforts by focusing on the good in others, and report on the change on the 21-Day Carnegie Challenge Blog!

Each month, Dale Carnegie Training will award a prize to the most inspiring blog entry.

Join conversations with others also taking the challenge, comment below to get started!

By not posting anything negative on social networks allow the others to feel your positive energy, leading by the example, instead of expecting a compliment we should publish one to those that never expected, to those that really deserves it, we have to realiza that just by saying thank you to someone that posted something on your wall makes the difference, we cant see each other all the time and sometimes our post are the ones that makes the difference in someone life, lets make the difference, lets give our best, lets share our smile through out what we publish, lets show the world how graceful we are.

I believe senior mngt is the driver for any organization. They have to clearly define goals n action plans. I also believe that they should discuss with the team at the time of goal Setting. Engagement comes from participation n feeling important. Also when they r involved in goal setting they get a sense of ownership!

I agree with the intent of the 21 Day Challenge. Social Media is a great forum to cultivate harmony and relationships in the community. Appreciation by liking is praise and by adding specifics of positive feedback, your message carries an extra oomph of sincerity. Should one need to share constructive or not so constructive criticisms, “private messaging” should be the channel. The criticism is intended for the person posting and not the person’s community of friends. It is common courtesy.

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
